Hey people,
I have a question: ELO and GLIKO are supposed to reveal the strength of chess players, but there is one thing that ruins every statistics: The daily form.
I noticed that I play significantly better when:
- I am not tired
- I am not frustrated or angry because of losing previous matches
- I am not drinking alcohol
For this reason I decided to only play when I am in a really good mood for playing, while many other players probably give a shit about that, so my question is:
(1) Is it a form of "cheating" when I stop playing as soon as I start losing games? I play about 5 matches per day and I noticed that my results become significantly worse the more games I have already played.
(2) Can ELO and GLIKO really tell us anything about the true capabilities of a chess players when the daily form is not included in the statistics?
