I don't understand what you mean by "studying openings at home". Taken literally, the phrasing is redundant: surely you do all of your opening study at home? Unless you rent office space just for your chess time. Therefore I assumed you meant "study of the opening that you do yourself, independently"; but it seems like your advice is "get coaching", which is not doing it yourself. So I for one am confused.
It's a bit like saying "if you want to teach yourself how to cook (in your own kitchen), then you should get cookery lessons."
