I wanted to ask if there was an android application for lichess on android if yes is it well optimized for tablets? And where can I find it?

Nope, but you can run lichess.org on firefox with your android device.

On the topic of android, do you know of any good chess apps that I can download and play offline by myself or head to head with a friend?
I've tried Chess by the AI Factory, but the head to head mode isn't desirable as the board keeps tilting 180 degrees.

You can turn the tilting off: Menu Button > Options > Auto Rotate Pieces.

Is there going to be an Lichess app for Android? It would be great to have an app for this site. I am looking for a good live chess 960 app. There are very few out there and this site would go great with one. I believe it would help the site grow for sure. I also play chess on Chess.com, but they don't have live chess 960, so I play here. Please make an app for Android. I would really appreciate it.

I'm fairly sure that an Android version of the application will be the first to go public.

Not a problem, it's intentional to save some space. While the site technically works on mobile devices, its interface is not properly optimised for them. That's why the chatbox has to go, to make it work better on mobile.

You really have to wait for the lichess on Android application though. That will be a true-to-form mobile interface to lichess.
