How do you Play against English Opening?

Frequently I play 1.c4 d5 2.cxd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qd6, a fairly solid line. Here you are a good example:
Although I don't face it very often, I usually play in the mirror, the symmetrical variant, but I must confess that when I face it it tends to give me a lot of problems, it is undoubtedly uncomfortable to face it.

As a 1. C4 player I have to highly recommend against this line... 1. d5 gives white a big advantage. If the English player plays typical English stuff (g3, bg2,d3)you may be ok, but if white plays principled chess they can play d4, e4, and have total central control. Black can get completely crushed if they aren't careful. Here is an example game.

I would recommend learning 1. e5 as a response instead. You can get good piece activity and lots of space.

Very interesting. Here you are a game:
in various orders, e6, d5 c5 and then very classical development.
