Bob Dylan called it the greatest song ever written

Everything about this post is too vague. How does one specifically decide what the greatest anything is? What is the criteria?

Some think Deep Purple are the grandpas of Metal because of many riffs they had in some songs. I know this even if my knowledge of Metal is pretty limited.
I guess All along the watchtower has to be one of the most covered songs,35 artists I can find.Heck even I do that one.
I was a big Dylan fan, even had the harmonica holder. A few of my many favorites include When I paint my masterpiece, Tangled up in blue,Stuck inside of Mobile,Quinn the Eskimo, Masters of War,Hurricane,Isis,Sarah, man there are too many to list. I still break out my Bob Dylan anthology songbook once in a while.
As for Glen Campbell,Wichita lineman was good,Southern Nights wasn't bad,I did get really tired of Rhinestone Cowboy, good song but played to death on the radio.

I was a kid when Rhinestone Cowboy was big. I didn't know much country, but that was a fun hook for kids to listen to in those days.
I must correct all of you. The greatest song ever is Vogue by Madonna. I know this for a fact because I'm a material girl living in a material world.
