When a protest goes too far...

As a pro-Palestinian, I absolutely don't know how I need to react. Make protests against genocide, but not this far.
Queers for Palestine.. is like... chickens for KFC... or penguins for polar bears, or Jews for Hitler. idk. I'm not Ben Shapiro
People be hating on Balfour but he was very adamant in his proclamation of “nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine.”

I think he was just a dude trying to solve a very long term problem of where Jewish people could live and not be subjected to discrimination.. It also was not about establishing a specifically Jewish state.

And honestly - if it wasn't for the Nazis there likely wouldn't have been such problems in Palestine to begin with - immigration only surged in 1933 when they took power.. Things would've taken place at a slower and more peaceful rate because people wouldn't have been desperate to immigrate.

If I remember correctly, the British did slow Jewish emigration to Palestine - which did end up making life quite difficult for those left behind for the Holocaust.

Was not Britain caught in a double promise to both the Arabs and the Jews? Where the land they thought they had promised to the Jews only, they had actually promised to the Arabs as well? And now that misunderstanding carries in to modern times...

Funny fact:
Neither penguin or polar bears knows of each others existence. They live half a world apart from one another.
The former in southern hemisphere and the latter in the north.
Only place to see them in close proximity, is in a zoo.
But even then, I doubt they ever met.

Definitely true, to my memory there were 3 vague contrary promises made to different groups.
No one would ever accuse the British of being duplicitous.

Big empire problems, they were probably all unaware of that the others had even promised
The British foreign policy have been spectacularly bad on many occasions. The Opium wars. The peace to end all peace. The mess in Africa. The Suez Crisis. They lost an enormous empire. Many Scots want independence. Good that the cannot influence EU policy. They should be forbidden to mess with others. Do all incompetent upper class twits join the foreign office?

Sure, the competition is fierce, but that doesn't make it good.
