My best game today : positional queen sacrifice

@achja my point is same as the point that @orionchess once made to me. In order to improve you have to play with strong opponents. You should believe in yourself! You can beat them all! Please don't be afraid of them!
Lol, not sure about the "positional part". Black can't hold on to the material! Nice game though.

As for the mud throwing that has been going on in this thread, I would like to remind you all that there is such a thing as shadowbans. Please show some respect to one another.
#26 i wont argue with you further as you are obviously a troll and it disturbs the friendly thread in general and also i have the feeling that others are aware of your nonsense.

Just one thing, regarding 'You are just defending a ghost; (...) Who you are? Do you have a FIDE rating? '

first: YOU are defending a ghost.

second: i am a german IM. No, i wont reveal my name. I have informed lichess via mail a about my reasonings.

third: let me quote yourself: 'you are argument from authority which in this case, is a fallacy.'

@Stratic:

A troll? I have just gave my reasons. Interesting how you use any kind of bad words to give strength to your words...; I did say any nonsense, I think, I made it simple basing my statements in opening general ideas, for everyone understand it.

1st. I am not defending any ghost, in fact, I am against a minor defence like the scandinavian.

2st. So, you claim to be an IM but you do not want to put your title? So strange, I did not give my name to anyone and here you can see my IM title next to my name. Who knows if you are really an IM?

3rd. Indeed, a chess title verifies, by pure maths, approximately, how strong you are. There are many chess players that have a bullet rating of 2600 and they are only +2200. Another thing is that you talk about "Carlsen", or "Kramnik"; considering they are an authority just for being +2700 GM or Chess Champs. Who of them played it in a WCC and won with it? Why your "sane defence" is not used in masterful games? Why you, as an "IM", did not play it at Lichess usually? Play it against someone with your same rating at bullet or blitz and show us how "sane" is the defence.

Its simple: You tell lies in #4. I point at your lie and say: thats a lie. Accept it, you are wrong and i am right. Thats life.
Regarding playing black, and winning :
Quite a lot of top chess players play, initially, for a draw with the black pieces. Some don't and try to play for a win from the early stages, but that is a minority I believe.

Regarding the Scandinavian defense played by masters :
GM Tiviakov played it for at least 10 years, and published at least one DVD about it.
In 2015 he started to play French defense as well, besides Scandinavian defense.

It is true that Scandinavian defense is not played in classical chess ... all the time ... by any top chess players.

(GM Karpov plays it all the time in the last few years, but only in rapid tourneys)

But that does not mean that an opening is completely refuted.
If you think it is, then please show some winning lines for white.

And then there's the Scandinavian gambit options.

GM Smerdon recently published a book about the Scandinavian Portuguese line, which he plays himself.
See here :

www.davidsmerdon.com/?p=1738 (Featuring a miniature in 14 moves, where GM De Vreugt had to resign as white).

...
As a comparison in openings :

In a recent tournament, the top players made jokes about the Benoni defense.
That topic is a bit more complicated.
Several top GMs do play the Benoni after white has commited to Nf3 or g2g3 and Bg2, and that is perfectly playable for black.
However, imho GM Topalov and GM Gashimov showed that Benoni is still alive, and playable for black at the top levels.

I read that Gashimov said something like : "chess engines don't see the compensation I have".
